How the Scrap Car Value Calculator works?

The scrap car value calculator takes into account the following factors:

Using these factors, the calculator searches through our database including searching through the current market rates for metal, aluminum, and catalytic converters prices. After the search is complete the calculator puts together a quote ranging from the low end value of the vehicle to the high end value of the vehicle. 

For example, if you have a car that has a weight of 3000 pounds, this would equal 1.5 tonnes. Using the market rate for metal for 1 tonne, as an example, $270 for 1 tonne. Then add on the price of alloy rims, $15 x 4 pieces. Then add on the catalytic converter, which ranges from $10-$300. In total, the car would be worth around $500. Other factors also, play a role for example, the make, model, year of the vehicle, the odometer reading, condition, drivability, and location. 

What is the salvage value? 

The salvage value of a vehicle in other words means, how much is a car worth after the end of it’s useful life. This is the maximum amount of value that the car has after the end of it’s useful life. This is also called “scrap value” or “junk value”.

What is the meaning of resale value?

The resale value of a vehicle means, how much the car is worth if it were to be resold in the used car market.

Will cleaning my car improve its salvage value?
